Conn 15A Director Cornet

The C.G. Conn 15A Director is a classic American-made student cornet from Conn’s highly regarded Elkhart, Indiana era. Introduced in 1961, the 15A was designed specifically for developing musicians and became one of Conn’s most widely used cornets in school band programs.

This serial number 917244 dates to approximately 1961. The 15A features a traditional brass bell and Conn’s compact cornet design, producing the warm, rounded character associated with a B♭ cornet. Conn originally promoted the model for its centered response, free-blowing design, graduated-thickness bell and quiet “Anti-Bounce” bottom-spring valve system.
